June 24, 2026| |
The International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications (ISAAA), Inc., announces the opening of registration for the 9th Asian Short Course on Agribiotechnology, Biosafety Regulation, and Communication (ASCA2026), to be held on September 1-4, 2026, at Peterson Solutions in Klang, Selangor, Malaysia.
Organized through a strategic collaboration between ISAAA, Inc. and MABIC, ASCA is a premier capacity-building initiative that equips Asian agri-biotech players with vital policy and regulatory expertise. This is particularly crucial for developing countries navigating resource constraints. Since its inception, ASCA has built a vibrant regional network, hosting successful programs across Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand, and has empowered more than 250 participants to foster a unified, science-based voice that promotes biotech R&D, commercialization, and international trade.
Over four intensive days, ASCA2026 will focus on four core learning themes:
- The Frontier of Agricultural Biotechnology
- Navigating Global Regulatory Frameworks
- Genome Editing: Science, Policy, and Commercialization
- Public Engagement, Stewardship, and Strategic Communication
ASCA consistently features prominent international experts who serve as resource speakers and facilitate interactive discussions. The program also includes tours to biotech research facilities, offering hands-on activities designed to enhance participants' knowledge and practical skills. Participation in ASCA promotes a collaborative environment, fostering valuable networking opportunities among participants and experts.
The registration fee is US$1,000 for international participants and US$900 for Malaysia-based participants. The registration fee excludes fund transfer service charges, accommodation, and airfare. Register now to avail of the 10% early-bird discount (US$900) until July 31, 2026. Download the flyer for more details.
This short course is co-organized with Peterson Solutions and sponsored by PtBio and the US Grains & Bioproducts Council. Interested sponsors may contact the organizers through knowledgecenter@isaaa.org.
