ISAAA and 2Blades Release Infographics on Fungal-resistant Corn

September 2, 2026

The International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications (ISAAA) and 2Blades have released an infographic highlighting the development of fungal-resistant corn and its potential contribution to global food security, climate resilience, and sustainable agriculture. The infographic is now available for download on the ISAAA website.

The featured fungal-resistant corn is being developed to strengthen the crop's natural defenses against pathogenic fungi, including Fusarium and Aspergillus. These fungi can reduce yields and produce mycotoxins that pose risks to food and animal safety. The development of resistant corn could help improve yield and grain quality while reducing losses and mitigation costs for farmers and other stakeholders.

The infographic highlights 2Blades' BladeSeek™ platform, an AI-based technology designed to accelerate the identification and mapping of plant defense genes. The platform includes NLRseek™ and PRRseek™, which can help researchers identify these genes in just 2-3 years, compared with the 5-10 years typically required using conventional methods. By streamlining this process, the technology aims to support the development of crops with stronger resistance to disease.
