Biotech for Reel: Reel-Making Competition on Agri-Biotech Applications

The International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications, Inc. (ISAAA Inc.), in partnership with the Department of Agriculture - Biotech Program Office (DA BPO), will hold a webinar on the launch of Biotech for Reel: Reel-Making Competition on Agri-Biotech Applications on August 18, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM (GMT+8), via Zoom. Registration is now open to all interested participants from the Philippines.

With the increasing popularity of short-form videos on social media platforms, content creators have transformed the way information is shared and consumed. Building on this, Biotech for Reel will encourage students, educators, and aspiring content creators to produce engaging short-form videos showcasing the relevance and applications of biotechnology in agriculture and everyday life.

The webinar will provide participants with foundational knowledge on biotechnology and practical guidance on communicating scientific concepts to a broad audience. The discussions will include the following topics:

• Overview of Agri-Biotech Applications in Daily Life
• Science Communication for Biotechnology

The reels competition is a buildup activity for the celebration of the 2026 National Biotechnology Week (NBW) on September 21-24, 2026. This activity is being undertaken through the collaborative Know the Science project under the Philippine Agriculture and Fisheries Biotechnology Program (DA Biotech Program).
